This morning, I reflected on the things that make me happy—the simple joys and meaningful moments that bring me fulfillment as a lady and a human being.
For me, happiness isn’t just a state of mind.
Most of the time, I find happiness in the things I love doing. It’s not just a feeling; it gives me a deep sense of fulfillment and purpose.
Happiness often feels like an elusive concept, doesn’t it? We chase milestones, set goals, and sometimes overlook the joy found in life’s simplest moments.
For me, happiness isn’t about grand achievements or picture-perfect days—it’s about the little things that light up my world and remind me of the beauty in everyday life.
In this post, I want to share a glimpse into the things that make me happy—those moments, habits, and experiences that fill my heart and keep me grounded.
Some might resonate with you, and others might inspire you to reflect on your own sources of joy.
Either way, I hope this serves as a reminder to pause and celebrate the things that truly matter.
Things That Make Me Happy
1. Inspiring Others
As much as I draw inspiration from people and things around me, I love inspiring others even more.
Not just anyone, but people in my close circle—the ones I interact with regularly. Something inside me leaps for joy whenever someone walks up to me to say, “You inspire me.”
It’s not just flattering; it also motivates me to give my best in whatever I’m doing. You never know—you might just be a source of inspiration to somebody else.
How do I inspire others?
I share counsel, proffer solutions to their problems, and genuinely help them out if I can. This comes naturally to me, whether physically or online.
It could mean sharing my story or making relatable and value-adding posts. These acts not only make me happy but also bring a sense of fulfillment.
Seeing others blossom under the weight of their dreams and ambitions is a major source of joy. Watching a simple piece of advice ignite someone’s journey is priceless.
2. Content Creation
If there’s one thing I’ve recently found both challenging and beautiful, it’s content creation. Trust me, we live in a world where content is the new king.
Though I’ve been creating content for a while, I started with posting randomly on Facebook but subsequently, the world shifted to video content, and guess what?
I shifted too by making videos and quickly fell in love with the process.
I spend most nights writing scripts for my next Instagram reel or YouTube video, and it’s incredibly satisfying.
First, I overcame my timidity and self-doubt when making videos because I had to constantly put my face out there.
I don’t just share random content; most of my posts are value-adding. They solve problems or add meaning to someone’s life.
Tell me, isn’t that enough reason to be happy? Of course, it is.
3. Watching Students Thrive
To a large extent, I was an A student all through my university days—and that didn’t happen by magic. Because of this, I understand the importance of students bringing their A-game to their studies.
I’m passionate about seeing students excel, and it makes me so happy to watch them thrive. Maybe it’s because I live in a part of the world where education isn’t always a big deal, and there are other ways to achieve success.
I put effort into helping students who care to listen, showing them that greatness is possible through academic excellence. It just makes me happy in a way that’s hard to explain.
4. Deep Conversations
Nothing beats meaningful talks about life, identity, and growth. Conversations that challenge and affirm me are my heart’s delight.
I love engaging in discussions with intelligent and mentally sound people.
It’s satisfying to have conversations that go beyond day-to-day small talk. These moments feel different and truly make me happy.
5. A Clean House
It might sound funny, but a clean, organized, and decluttered space takes my mood from zero to a hundred! I love it when all my things are in order. It just makes me super happy and excited.
Additionally, I think everyone loves a clean house because it boosts productivity. It gives you the energy to complete tasks and stay focused.
6. Human-Centered Marketing
You know that feeling when you have a product or service to sell, but you can’t seem to connect with your target audience? That’s where I come in!
One of the things that make me happy as a content marketer is creating campaigns and strategies that speak to the heart.
I enjoy helping clients build authentic relationships with their audiences. Seeing their leads and revenue increase is especially exciting.
7. Celebrating Women
I love seeing women succeed. I love it when a woman achieves her goals and becomes who she intends to be.
Empowering women whether through mentorship or celebrating their achievements brings me unmatched joy and pride.
8. A Great Book
I’m a vivid lover of books, especially African novels. You should see my joy whenever I come across a new book that looks interesting.
For me, reading is both fun and therapeutic. After a long day, all I want to do is read a book and sleep off.
A cozy corner, a captivating book, and a quiet afternoon: a recipe for happiness that never fails.
9. Quality Time with Loved Ones
I believe for most people—family is such a big deal, especially when you have a loving one. Spending quality time and creating memories with family and loved ones gives me so much excitement.
With family, you can be the best version of yourself and even show your flaws without judgment
10. Journaling
Every morning, I set aside a few minutes for journaling.
There’s no strict format—just me, a blank page, and my thoughts. Sometimes I write down my emotions, other times I jot down my plans or reflect on what I’m grateful for.
This practice grounds me and helps me start my day with clarity. Plus, it’s a chance to connect with myself on a deeper level.
After journaling, I often create my to-do list for the day, which keeps me organized and focused.
11. Having A Good Sleep
A good night’s sleep is happiness in its purest form. Beyond feeling refreshed, sleep helps me reset and recharge for the day ahead.
When I’ve had enough rest, my mind is sharper, my mood is brighter, and my productivity skyrockets. Sleep isn’t just a necessity—it’s a joy I never take for granted.
12. Eating Good Food
Food is more than sustenance—it’s an experience.
I wouldn’t even lie about it, food is a great mood changer for me especially if it’s my favorite. The sight of a good food makes me extremely excited
Conclusion
Ultimately, happiness isn’t something we chase externally—it’s something we cultivate within ourselves, in the little joys, in the ways we touch others’ lives, and in the moments that make us feel alive.
Happiness is a journey, and I’m learning to embrace every part of it.
So I want to know, what are the things that make you happy too?
