How To Make Coconut Puff-Puff
This coconut puff-puff is very easy to make and the outcome is fantastic and outstanding. You’ll surely enjoy these balls as much as I do.
- Assemble all the dry Ingredients: Flour, sugar, active dry yeast, salt, coconut flakes, and also the liquid which is coconut water.
- In a mixing bowl, add all the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly
- And gently start to add the liquid until the right consistency is reached.
- Cover the batter with a clean kitchen towel or clingy film and place it in a warm place to rise between 45-60 minutes.
- Remove the cover, and by now, it should have formed bubbles, use your spatula to mix everything together before you start frying.
- Place your deep pan on medium heat, add the cooking oil. The oil should not be too hot and not too cold. If it’s too hot, it won’t be well cooked and if it’s too warm, it gets soaked in the oil.
- Scoop the batter into the oil with your hand to form round balls. When one side is golden brown, flip to the other side until both sides are golden brown.
- Remove and drain the excess oil. Your Coconut puff-puff is ready to be enjoyed.
- Serve with any chilled drink of your choice.
NOTES
- Note that you can always substitute coconut water for coconut milk. This is based on your preference or the one available to you.
- It’s Important that you fry this with the right heat temperature for the best result.
- The heating temperature matters a lot when it comes to making puff-puff.
- If you discover that the temperature is going down, increase it immediately and if you think it’s too hot, reduce it immediately. I normally adjust mine from time to time, this has guaranteed the best result, each time I make puff-puff.
